They don’t complain is an awareness-raising campaign about the difficulty that most keepers of animals have in identifying the presence of pain in their companion animal, and about the fundamental role played by the veterinarian in this process of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

It is promoted by the LIVISTO Observatory on Animal Pain (LOAP), the first European platform to study society’s perception of pain in relation to companion animals, with a view to its appropriate management.

European network of clinics with an awareness of pain

The principal value proposition of LOAP is the formation of a network of clinics with an awareness of animal pain, a pioneer in Europe. Clinics from Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland and Switzerland join voluntarily, all of them united by a common goal: to advocate for a greater understanding by society of this problem and of the veterinary profession as the guardian of animal welfare.
