LOAP’s mission is to create value around the problem of animal pain and to establish quality links between veterinarians, owners and companion animals. The project provides professionals with the necessary tools and knowledge to enable them to enhance the management of pain in their patients and, in turn, to educate pet owners with regard to the timely identification of pain in their animals, so they can manage it with greater awareness.
LIVISTO Observatory on Animal Pain (LOAP) Is a European platform developed with veterinary experts from different countries dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of the identification, prevention and treatment of pain in companion animals.
It was instigated by LIVISTO, the European reference laboratory in animal pain, with the objective of providing information and tools to help both veterinarians and dog and cat owners to improve their animals’ health and welfare.

Still with animal pain as the focus, through LOAP LIVISTO promotes different projects to raise awareness of the current situation regarding animal welfare, the most relevant future challenges that will arise in this area and, as far as possible, initiatives that will contribute directly to the better prevention, identification and treatment of animal pain.

LOAP is a project promoted by LIVISTO, an international pharmaceutical company that develops, produces and markets high-quality animal health products for livestock and poultry farming and for companion animals. The creation of LOAP is part of LIVISTO’s commitment to the management of pain in order to contribute to the welfare and quality of life of animals.
